1830 Russian Malachite Box (#80)

According to George Serebryakov the box had belonged to his Great Grandfather, Mikhail Nikolaevich Vasil’ev who was a famous Russian Photographer in the late 1800’s. He used to take photographs for Faberge, besides being a good friend of his. George remembers his grandmother telling him that after his death this box was given to her in honor of her father. How this box ended up in the US he does not know. It appears that the box has been relined and repolished within the last 50 years.   5″H x 19″W x 7″D   (#80)
