Late 19th C. Malachite Box (#9)

Late 19th C. believed to be either a liquor or jewelry box with intricate Dore Gold Bronze mounts Gold plated Bronze castings and Russian Malachite. A Cherub sits on top holding a basket. Believed to belong to Boris Yeltson the President of Russia who loved to drink publicly, and gifted to his successor Vladimir Putin, upon his election by an unknown General. The story is unknown how it arrived in the US. A truly magnificent box. A wonderful showpiece. which later on had been relined & restored.  13″H x 17″W x 13″D   (#9)
